Kim Vickrey was right.

My graphic design professor said that she won't take pictures at weddings. I feel like I now have a better understanding of how she came to that decision. Matt and Merry, newlyweds from Saturday, invited me to share their special day and to take pictures with the photographers. I always had it in my head that being a wedding photographer was something I would enjoy, but let's face it, I don't want/need that responsibility. Here are a few mistakes I made throughout the day:

1. I wore 3-4 inch heels. IDIOT.
2. I banked too heavily on the sunshine for my photographs, but the sunshine never came.
3. I was too afraid to simply ask the other photographers to move when they were in my shot. (now I'm having tons of fun editing them out.)
4. I should have switched lenses more.

I learned a lot from this experience and am very thankful for the opportunity I had. Matt and Merry were such a blessing to be around.

lets begin, shall we?

After much time and consideration and a few failed attempts, Cassette Tape Prints has become the official name for my photography and graphic design work. I'm thinking a logo is in the near future, along with a better template for this mundane excuse for a blog. Be prepared for the random. My mind leaps from one idea to the next in about .2343 seconds, and the end product typically portrays that.

I created a flickr account as well, and am in the process of uploading images.
